Film and Edit.

Our team can take a film from conception right through to delivery. We can work with you on the key messages of the film and logistics for the shoot. In the edit we can add graphics and animation to get your point across. Delivery in 4K ready for your website, YouTube and more.

Remote Locations.

We have experience filming in remote locations on shoots. Whether it’s a volcano, river, glacier or jungle, we’ve done it all. Our team include mountain leaders, divers, skiers, explorers and more. We’d be happy to join a remote shoot with you.

Variety of Uses.

We can film for your YouTube channel or your website. You can use the films as Virtual Field Trips or Marketing material for field courses. Explainer videos for your research, or 360 immersive content for events. Our team can film for any situation.

In Search of Reindeer.

Iceland only has 3000 reindeer left. By the mid-twentieth century, the reindeer population dwindled to only a few hundred animals, and survived only in the east and northeast of the country. Researchers associate the drop in population to poor grazing conditions, most likely caused by volcanic eruptions, and a rash of harsh winters. But they can survive in winter, being able to regulate their body temperatures all the way down to -40C. Catherine Capon heads to Iceland to the east and northeast of the country. The reindeer stay mostly at high elevations during the summer months, then migrate closer to the coastal grasslands during the winter, this is where we will try to find them. They live here amongst Arctic Foxes and the northern lights.

Collectors of Light.

Collectors of Light was part of the Open Universities ‘Through the Lens’ Series.

Shot in Tenerife at Observatorio del Teide and at the Exmoor International Dark Sky Reserve, it looks at the role of observational telescopes and space telescopes in science.

Animation by Mair Perkins.

University of South Wales.

We shot in the Azores for the marketing team at University of South Wales. This film was to promote the field work on the Geology courses at the University. We visited the island for a week with lecturers and students collecting footage for promotional material and interviews for future edits. Here’s the result…

TÆKNI

The Svinafellsjokull is an outlet of the Vatnajokull, the largest Ice Cap in Europe. Our team hike high up to circumnavigate the glacier to 3D map the glacier itself with drone technology. Making a 3D model of glaciers this size is rarely done because of the sheer size of them. But this data can be used by scientists and students alike to create an actual walk around of the glacier itself. This film mixes technology, science, ice caves and ice caps. All this while camping high on an ice cap in Icelandic winter. The key message of this film is that we need more technology to be able to understand our changing climate. Satellites, drones and everything in between. Presented by Huw James.

Saving a Species.

For the Croucher Foundations Science Week we produced a 20 minute documentary at Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Presented by Catherine Capon and hosted by the Wildlife Park, this film explored the question, Are Zoos Good or Bad?

Lighting It Up.

We worked with The Open University, as part of their ‘Through the Lens’ Series, to produce a first in a series film about the intricacies of sending cameras in to space. Shot at The Open University in their labs and at the commercial venture Teledyne e2v, this shoot was challenging.

We also worked with animator Mair Perkins to create an additional animation to explain much of the Physics.

World Record Lemon Battery.

Explorers on the Edge was a commercial project designed to show some amazing people exploring the world but also exploring science and nature. We filmed in Spain, France, Switzerland, Wales and Iceland on this shoot. Here’s Glaciologist, Cameron MacKay talking about his passion for human/glacier interaction.

Royal Mint Museum.

We were commissioned by the Royal Mint Museum to make a series of 4 videos for students to explain the engineering and design processes behind the manufacture of coins at the Royal Mint.

With just 2 days filming on location and a small team, we made 4 x 6 minute films to show how the inner workings of the Royal Mint have changed over the years, and how designers, engineers and artists all have their place at the Mint.

Forest Videos for Size of Wales.

Size of Wales asked us to create a set of videos to explain the forests of the world for students. 4 in English language, and 4 in Welsh language.

Shot in studio and cut together to be a little faster paced for those with shorter attention spans, these films accompany education resources to explain forests to Welsh students.
